LANA PARRY / CHRIS MULLEN

DATE..........

Hello Chris,

Thank you very much for your email.. I thought I will send what I got to give you some impression of myself and my doings. It’s probably will take another year for me really to be ready for something.
I am working hard but its slow processes. A bit more informally about me.

I have many works on paper, most of them look like sketches, but maybe it’s the way I work. I have many works that need working on and finishing. I love painting but I don't have studio, so that makes me putting it away until I will have one in my garden this year.

I have not been taking part in any exhibitions. I do what I feel and how I feel it in art I don't stick to any rules. I have a series of erotic drawings, where I would like to show in the shortest way to say the Beauty of human feelings and bodies, it’s about 25 works that would make a small exhibition. I do not know whom to approaching with that. The series is not finished yet.
I started working on planning to have my own web site.
Again I would like to thank you so much for you taking time to be in touch with me.

Outline of my career

I was born in 13.07.1968 in Ukraine. In one of the very beautiful regions with lots of multicultural population at the very west of the country where Carpathian Mountains are. Grown up in a little village experiencing the best of the country life.
Attended local school of art and was drawing and painting from early age.
After school went to Kharkiv State School of Art. Studying in this college was of the highest degree in learning about visual arts, which was drawing, figure drawing, watercolour, oil painting, photography and other basics. It was the year 1983 to 1987.

After college I studied in Lviv National Academy of Arts. Year 1988 to 1993.
It was a fashion design course. From 1993 to 2001 I lived in Lviv. I had my own little business of designing and making bespoke clothing for customers.
I can produce fashion illustration work, I can develop fashion design drawings in any topic and present it beautifully.

In 2001 I moved to UK. I live and work in north Wales.
I am married and have two children. Family life and looking after children was my main priority for many years. In 2018 I started to practice my art again. And very soon I got back to my everyday drawing, creating and working on commissions.
I am developing and working on a few art projects at the same time at present.

Short Statement

There are many thing that effect artist life and creative processes during actual artist career. From an early age I remember myself drawing and creating , I always imagined myself as an artist. As you grow older your attitude to how you live your life changes and and the way you create changes to. The human form was always my main obsession and still is. In my first education in college the teaching of art was so strong and so good it gave me incredible base for the rest of my artistic development. I so enjoy drawing painting and creating because its easy for me I know I can do it. I am fascinated with the idea that I can put my thoughts down not in the form of words but in the form of signs. And they are my language I am using for the communicating with the audience. Imagination is incredible gift we got from nature. Something feeds my imagination all the time. Love is the most important of them. The creative process is very important to humans. It can heal any pain and gives the best joy of feeling alive. It should be used more widely.
My background and growing in such an amazing part of Ukraine influenced my artistic vision with deep colours, sunshine, customs and folk songs. I love to look for connections between nature human form and its spirits in my works.
I admire the Beauty of female and male body, it is endless exploration. I see women as flowers and man are here to look after them.
I like the feeling of movement in my works. Everything is constant movement. In painting movement is colour in drawing movement is line. You can say so much with lines. Expressions of the eyes and hands can say so much, and can show the dippest feelings. I see my work as an exhibition of works on paper. I would like to show to an audience that with simple graphite and other dry mediums you can express so much . Energy, emotions, feelings, space the beauty of living form and objects. The time we pass and the future we build from what we have seen.
