1896-1957, she studied at the Pratt Institute and with Archipenko. Her first book was The Cruise of the Little Dipper 1923, and her last Sense and Sensibility 1957. The examples I have seen show her to devise an approach, a style, that suits the particular narrative. Her papers are at the University of Minnesota.She is particularly associated with illustrations for the original Little House on the Prairie series of books.
